The Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray Polytechnic School is located in Kolkata in the state of West Bengal in India and was named after one of India’s most famous and revered scientist Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray. It is an affiliate of the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education and provides diplomas in the field of technology to students.
Some of the facilities provided by the institute to its students are a hostel facility for Boys, a canteen and a sports and games room and also a placement cell which provides placements for students to various big companies, the students are also provided workshop training and are taken on regular visits to Industries for a hands on view of the fields they choose as a profession.
For admissions one must appear for the JEXPO examination carried out by the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education (WBSCTE) or can seek admission directly by providing the institute their class X certificate and results. After the successful completion of the JEXPO examination the student has to fill in the application form and submit it with a fee of Rs 10 at the institute, all application forms are provided to the students on the successful completion of the JEXPO exam and are required to come for counseling. Students are offered seats on the basis of merit and availability of seats at the branch.
The different courses offered by the institute are diplomas in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Technology, Civil Engineering and Food Processing.
