All India Pre Veterinart Test (AIPVT)
he council conducts an All India Entrance Examination for admission to 1st year of B.V.Sc. & A.H. course for filling up 15% of total number of seats on Merit in each Veterinary College of India. The duration of B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry) degree course is five years including six months compulsory rotating internship.
- A candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination ( after a period of 12 years of study) the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English Or
- Candidates who have passed the B.Sc. examination from a recognised University with not less than two of the following subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany/ Zoology), and has passed the earlier qualifying examination with the following subjects - Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
- A candidate who is taking up the qualifying examination prior to the Entrance Examination, or whose result is awaited, may also apply and take the examination
- The candidate has attained or will attain age of seventeen (17) years on the current exam
The application form and information brochure can be can be obtained by post on request or by hand from the office of the Controller of Examination, Veterinary Council of India directly. Application form can also be obtained from the designed bank counters in selected cities, as specified by the Veterinary Council of India.

The Entrance Examination are held in May.
