Ahmedabad one of India’s largest cities was founded in 1411 by Sultan Ahmed Shah lies in the state of Gujarat. With its beautiful buildings, lakes and mosques it is a beautiful place to visit in India. In 1572 it was taken over by Emperor Akbar and consequently became one of the most important business and trade centers for the Mughal Empire and later taken over by the British empire in 1818 and opened a number of textile mills.

Ahmedabad has a number of beautiful places to visit as a tourist like Jama Masjid built in 1423 was one of the primary mosque’s of the Mughal period and reflects the architecture of that era, The Gandhi Ashram which was the house of Mahatma Gandhi and today is one of the biggest tourist attractions of the city, Surkhej about 8 km’s away from the city is famous for architecture, the Jhulta Minar or swaying minarets are a part of the Siddhi Bashir and is an unusual structure which can be moved by applying a little force, the Hatheesing Jain Temples, the Kankaria Lake can all be viewed by the tour packages offered by India Tours some of the other places to visit in this city is Rani Sipri's Mosque, Raj Rabri Mosque, Kutbi Mazar the Bhadra Fort built in 1411 during the Maratha rule, Dada-hari-di-Vav, Victoria Gardens, N C Mehta Museum of Miniatures and Calico Textile Museum one of the most famous textile museums in the world also located in a beautiful carved haveli displays rare collections of textiles from the 17th century.
