All you have to do is to plug an Airtel Card into your computer and you have complete access to the Internet, with reasonably high speeds, no matter where in the country you might be. Best of all, there is no 'roaming' charge, charges remaining standard in all the Airtel data card Tariff plans no matter where in India you use the card.

There are several Airtel data card Tariff plans and you should choose the one that suits you best.

The Standard Plan: This plan charges just Rs. 50 as a rent for the card, and then allows you to surf at the rate of Rs. 10 per Mb. This is really an excellent plan for those who do limited surfing, yet have to remain connected for business purposes – however, it is far too expensive for the dedicated surfer.

Plan 1 & 2: This plan is slightly more sophisticated, in that you pay Rs. 350 and receive 500 Mb of surfing free. There is a more advanced version of this plan, called Plan 2, in which you pay Rs. 600 for 1 Gb of free surfing. The cost of surfing beyond the limit is also cheaper than in the Standard Plan.

Surf Unlimited: This plan gives you unlimited data access for a thousand rupees. However, Airtel's speeds on these cards are so slow in most places that it is not really worth paying this amount of money for the service.
