Ajmer Tour

Ajmer located in the state of Rajasthan India is a beautiful city surrounded by the Aravalli hills. It has always been a popular and important place for the Rajputs, the Mughals, and the Marathas, it was originally under the supervision of Prithviraj Chauhan until 1193 AD who was then defeated by Mohammad Ghauri who made it a part of the Delhi sultanate, however, it was short-lived as it was again taken over by Rajput rule by Rana Kumbha and Raja Maldeo.

Some of the main places of attraction for tourists in and around the area are Nasiyan a Jain temple built in the 19th century with its beautiful paintings depicting Jain Mythology, it is a red colored double storied temple and is much revered for its beauty. The Anasagar Lake is a historic man-made lake constructed by Maharaja Anaji the grandfather of Prithviraj Chauhan between 1135 to 1150 AD, and later Emperor Shah Jahan constructed many pavilions called ‘Baradari’ to add to its beauty.

The Ajmer-e-Sharif Dargah an important place for Muslim pilgrims was constructed as a tomb for the Sufi saint Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti and was visited by emperor Akbar once a year to pay homage. The Adhai-Din-Ka Jhonpara a fine example of indo-Islamic architecture was a college for Sanskrit in the 12th century and was later destroyed by Mohamad Ghori and converted to a beautiful Mosque, the mosque is architectural paradise with its beautifully constructed pillars and archways engraved with Khufi and Jughra was taken from the Holy Quran.
