Anju Bobby George is an Indian athlete. She was born on 19th April 1977 Changanassery, Kerala. She is the first Indian woman to win a medal in the World Championship in Athletics. She was once ranked as World No. 4

In 1996, she won a medal in the Delhi Junior Asian Championship. In 1999, She made a record of Triple jump at the Bangalore Federation Cup. In the same year, she won silver medal at the South Asian Federation Games held in Nepal. In 2002 at the Commonwealth Games, she won a Bronze medal by clearing 6.4m. She represented India in the 2004 Olympics Games. In 2005, at the 16rh Asian Athletics Championship, She won the gold medal with the leap of 6.65 meters. In the same year, she also won the silver medal at the Asian Games. She won silver medal in the 17th Asian Athlete Championship with a jump of 6.65m. She also represented India in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In the same year, she won silver medal in the 3rd Asian Indoor Championship with a jump of 6.50m and also won gold in the 3rd South Asian Athletics Championship which was held in Cochin, Kerala.
