BITS Pilani (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani) was founded by late Mr G.D. Birla, an eminent industrialist in early 1900s. The Institute was christened as the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, i.e. BITS, Pilani and was accorded the status of deemed university. BITS Pilani also has campuses at Goa, Dubai, and Hyderabad.

BITS Pilani Admission Procedure:

Admissions to Integrated first degree programmes at Pilani campus is through a computer based online test conducted by BITS. This test is referred to as ' BITS Admission Test', in short as BITSAT.

BITS Pilani Eligibilty;

The candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT) or a minimum of aggregate 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) subjects in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology subjects.

BITS Pilani Hostels:

The institute is fully residential and hostel accommodation is provided to all students. Permission to become day-scholar may be granted only under exceptional circumstances where student's parents or close relatives are residents of Pilani. There are 11 hostels for boys and one hostel complex for girls.

BITS Pilani Campus Life:-

• The Institute provides all the required facilities for sports and recreation to ensure overall development of every student.

• Students can join various clubs existing on the campus for example Music Club, Astronomy Club, Photography club, Poetry club, Dance club, Mime club, etc.

• Each year students organize a National Level Sports meet called BOSM, a National Level Cultural meet called OASIS, all India Management Convention called INTERFACE and a Academic week, called APOGEE.

• Many students learn foreign languages like German, French, Japanese etc. on campus.

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science located in a small town in Pilani Rajasthan, near the Vidya Vihar campus, it also has two other campuses in India located in Goa, and Hyderabad. The institute has a lot of history to its name founded in the late 1900s as a small school by the Late MR G D Birla who was a distinguished Industrialist and who also participated in India’s struggle for freedom and was a close associate of the father of our nation late Mr. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, this small school later developed into a number of colleges and institutes of higher learning and later these were joined to form the Birla Institute of Technology and Science also referred to as BITS Pilani by its students.

The institute has always strived to impart the highest form of education to its students and great facilities to broaden their developing minds and help them achieve their goals. The institute offers Diploma programmes in Engineering, Sciences, Technology, Pharmacy, Management and Humanities, degree programmes in BE, BPharm, M.SC Hons and MSc Tech and also doctorate programmes. In all, the institute offers some 35 different programmes on campus.

The institute also has an outstanding placement facility helping to guide student careers and help them achieve goals in joining leading organizations within and outside the country. There are two placement sessions held in the year the first starts from August to November and the second is from January to April, where about 130 different reputed companies visit this campus.
