Bankura Unnayani Institute of Engineering

The Bankura Unnayani Institute of Engineering located in Bankura, West bengal, India was established on 19th September 1998 and is an affiliate of The West Bengal University of Technology, it was inaugurated by Mr. Jyothi Basu the then Chief Minister of West bengal and is approved by the All India Council Of Technical Education, the Government of India and the Directorate Of Higher Education, it is about a 3 km bus ride from the Govinda Nagar Bus stand and the Bankura railway station is about 30 Kms away. The principal of the institute is Dr.P.D.Purokayasta and the Chairman is Sri Upen Kisku.

Some of the courses offered by this institute are a Bachelors Of engineering in the fields of Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation, and Electrical Engineering, all courses being for four years, and are planned by the West Bengal University Of Technology.

The admissions take place on a yearly basis and for applying to the college one must appear for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination about 85% of the students are taken from here, the seats are then fixed by the Central Selection Committee of Engineering and Technology, seats are also allotted to students who have appeared and successfully completed the AIEEE/CET examinations conducted by the State and University respectively, this constitutes the remaining 15% of the students. On a whole about 300 students are taken yearly.

Hostels are available for Men and Women and the faculty and it is located within the campus.
