Bharathiar University

Bharathiar University is located in South India in the state of Tamil Nadu in Coimbatore. It is basically a post graduate university that was named after the famous Tamil poet Subramania Bharathiar. This university was established in the month of February in the year 1982. This university was recognized by the University Grants Commission or (UGC) under the AICTE in the year 1985.

The university is well situated in the lavish foothills of the Marudamalai and expands over a large and wide campus. It also has jurisdiction over all the districts of the Coimbatore, the Nilgiris and the Erode. The university comprises of around 119 institutions that are affiliated by it. Among them around 80 are colleges of Arts and Science Colleges, then it has 29 Colleges for the Education, 8 institutions for only Management, 1 institution for Air Force Administration and remaining one college for the field of Physical Education. It includes institutions under various categories and has tried to cover almost all the categories.

This university works to impart education to bright students with the motto to elevate the education in all streams.

The university has well maintained Administration that comprises of:

·Chancellor: this post is served by Thiru Surjit Singh Barnala, who is at present the Governor of Tamil Nadu

·Pro-Chancellor: this designation is reserved for Thiru Dr K Ponmudi, currently serving as the Minister for Education for the Government of Tamil Nadu

·Vice-Chancellor: Prof. Dr. Tiru Vasagamfor is serving as the Vice Chancellor of the university.

This university is not reserved only to one department. It has spread its wings in all the directions and therefore it has various Departments like:
