Bharathidasan University was established in the year 1982 in Tiruchirapalli by Tamil poet Bharathidasan. The main aim of this institute is to offer quality education for students in Management and Technical subject. It has offered great scope for students learning in this university. The Bharathidasan Institute of Management is an autonomous management institute in partnership with BHEL.
The Centre of Distance Education in this university was established in the year 1992 with the aim of offering education for those students who couldn’t get into college seat due to full admission. Its study centers are spread across Tamil Nadu and Chennai. Currently there are more 16,000 students who got enrolled for distance education. There are 66 programs which are offers along with MBA other PG programs. All the courses offered in centre of distance education are being approved by DEC.
