Booking Indian Rail Tickets From Abroad

The Indian Railways have enhanced customer comfort by having almost all their regular trains available for booking over the internet. You can even book your tickets from abroad using this facility but you would need to mention that you would be either picking up the ticket in person or provide a local address with India to where the ticket would be delivered.

For booking a ticket online you would need to login to the Indian Railways site ie www.irctc.co.in Once you have logged in there you would need to create an account with the Indian Railways giving information such as your Name, Date of birth, Address etc. Once you have obtained an ID and password you will be able to book tickets online.

Booking tickets online is simple. Login with your username and password and go to ‘Plan my Travel’. Fill in the necessary details such as date of travel, and from which place to which place you would be traveling. Then select a suitable train which you would like to travel by along with the class of travel. Once you have chosen your train then you would need to pay for your ticket through a Debit or Credit card. Once the payment details are entered you will be given a PNR number which acts like a guarantee that your ticket has been booked. The booked ticket will reach your address in the next 3 working days.

It is advisable to book your tickets 60 days in advance to avoid rush as well us getting your booked ticket delivered on time.
