VoIP or voice over Internet Protocol is the transmission of voice traffic over IP based networks. The VoIP broadband has become popular because of the cost advantages. Broadband VoIP can be connected in three ways, like; using a VoIP telephone, using a normal telephone with a VoIP adapter, using computer with speakers and microphone.
Phone calls can be made through this network either to normal telephones or the public switched telephone network known as PSTN. PC to phone and PC to PC services are also available.

The IP address is equal to a telephone number with a particular area code and a unique number.
• The VoIP service with broadband connection provides with low calling rates for international calls in comparison to regular telephone network.
• The broadband phone uses the same IP address as the internet service. The adapter connects to a standard telephone and creates a broadband phone. But most broadband phone services work only with DSL or the internet modem. These services are not available with a dial up connection.
• Broadband VoIP are a better choice for business purpose where it is necessary to make video and audio conferences. It is quite easy to set up the video and audio conference through a broadband connection as it provides with clear picture and sound quality.
