Central Footwear training Institute ,Agra was established in the year in 1963 in the month of July. It was actually initiated by the government of India with the support of Ministry of Industry, Small Industries Development Organization and financial support from Ford Foundation. It was formerly known as the he Central Footwear Training Centre.
After its formation it underwent several changes in its management and infrastructure. Today it is counted as most of the most important footwear institution the country. today it is perceived as a Govt. of India society under the Chairmanship of Additional Secretary/Development Commissioner (Small Scale Industry), Ministry of Industry and Small Industries Development Organization.
Achievements
Over the year Central Footwear training Institute Agra has excelled in the training and the education of the footwear. It won the Best Design Award and Best Pavillion Award in the Leather Fair "LEXPO XXIV" that was arranged by Indian Leather Technologists Association (ILTA) at Calcutta. Besides, it has also bagged the Best Design Award and Best Pavillion Award in the Leather Fair "LEXPO XXIV" that was organized by Indian Leather Technologists Association (ILTA) at Calcutta.

Central Footwear training Institute, Agra offers several versatile courses to its students. The different courses include Basic Design and Pattern Engineering, Certificate Course in Footwear Designing & Product Development, rash Course in Footwear Design & Production Technology, Certificate Course in Shoe Designing & Sketching, Advanced Certificate Course in Computer Aided Shoe Designing, Certificate Course in Computer Aided 3D-Modelling & CNC Operations and so on.
