It is the duty of the central government to provide excellent care for the children as well as to its family members. The central government has come up with a scheme that is meant to offer child and family services in every parts of the country. Basically the schemes are meant to help those children and its family members that are living below the poverty line.
For the benefit of the children and its family the central government has come up with a unique scheme called National Action Plan for Children. Though this plan is targeted mainly for the children but it also takes care of the family as well. The plan educates the family about the proper upbringing of a child. In some parts of the country, girl child is not at all welcomed and for this reason they are either killed at their infant stage. In some parts of the country, the child marriage ritual is still in existence where a young girl is married to an old man. Based on such things, the plan tries to educate the family regarding the proper upbringing of a girl child.
The central government also came up with a unique scheme under which it would take care of the nutrition of adolescent or juvenile girls. This one is also a centrally sponsored scheme that is meant to offer child and family services in all parts of the country. The scheme is National Program for Adolescent Girls (NPAG) and has been implemented in 51 districts in India. This plan is also targeted for the children especially juvenile girls but in certain it also benefits a family as well. According to this scheme, 6kgs of food grains are to be given to pregnant woman, lactating mothers and juvenile girls.
