Coimbatore Airport

Coimbatore International Airport or Peelamedu Airport or Coimbatore Civil Aerodrome is located in the city of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. It is managed by the Airport Authority of India and its airport code is CJB. It caters to both international and domestic travelers. AAI plans to spend Rs 57 crore to expand this airport to cater to growing domestic and international traffic. Expansion will include construction of new terminal with aerobridges, new parking bays and extension of runway.

Location of Coimbatore Airport
Coimbatore Airport is located in Peelamedu, at a distance of 11 km from the Coimbatore Railway Station. Its geographical coordinates are Longitude: 77° 2’ 36” E and Latitude: 11° 1’ 48” N. Runway length of this airport is 8480 ft. and elevation is 1324 ft. AAI has proposed to expand its runway to 9760 ft. Other airports near Coimbatore Airport are Trichy Airport (206 km) and Madurai Airport (225 km).

How to Reach Coimbatore Airport
Distance between airport and city is very less and can be covered comfortably in city buses, autorickshaws or taxis. Do not forget to negotiate the price.
Security checking at the airport may take time so it advisable to reach the international terminal at least 3 hours before the flight departure and domestic terminal at least 2 hours before flight departure.
