Dibyendu Barua was born on 27th October 1966 in Kolkata, West Bengal. Dibyendu Barua is one of the chess grandmasters from India. After Vishwanathan Anand, Dibyendu Bauar is the second Indian to hold the title of Grandmasters. In the year 1978, at the age of 12 Dibyendu Baruar participated in the Indian National Championship of chess and became the youngest participant in the Indian National Championship. In the year 1982, he defeated Viktor Korchnoi in London who used to be the world number two Grandmaster in chess. Dibyendu Baruar won the National Championship title for the first time in the year 1983. In 1991, he became a Grandmaster.
