Digital TV Dis-Advantages

Digital TV transmits digital signal consisting of ones and zeros. Instead of an analogue signal made up of waves.

Digital television features include:

•High-resolution video (HDTV), including widescreen formats

•Surround sound audio

•Multiple programs per channel

•Built-in electronic programming guide

•Near-perfect picture quality

Some Disadvantages

•Either you will get a good signal or no picture in digital TV.

•Consumer need to install either a set-top box or TV with a digital receiver built-in. Currently it is expensive to purchase them.

•Some consumers may need to upgrade their connections and/or aerial to avoid interference from local sources.

•Some consumers may need to retune their VCRs to avoid interference from digital broadcasts.

•With digital, the picture and sound will literally freeze on the last received data "chunk", awaiting further instruction.
