Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

''Diploma in Mechanical Engineering'' is a field that involves all -- pumps and compressors, plumbing and piping, motors and engines, fans, air conditioning, and anything that moves, applies force, and performs work. In short it is the study of machines and its mechanism. Diploma In Mechanical Engineering provides a very bright future and career. Mechanical engineers are needed in Designing, Modification of existing design, Estimating & Costing, Operating of various machines and their maintenance and get adequate exposure to latest technology such as Mechatronics, CAD /CAM & Robotics and CNC.

==Eligibility==
1). A student must have passed Secondary School Certificate Examination (Std X) or any other equivalent examination.
2). Must have obtained at least 50% marks in total, in one sitting.
3). Must have passed English, Math, Science (Physics & Chemistry) as compulsory subjects.
4). Personal interview.

==Course Duration==
The duration of course is three years and in some colleges it is of four years.

==Intake Capacity==
The maximum intake capacity depends upon college to college. AICTE permits 60 seats.

This is an evergreen field of Engineering with respect to job opportunities in comparison to other fields.
