Documents required for Indian Passport are as follows,
For New Passport
For new passport the following documents are required,
- New passport application form
- Two passport size photographs
- Address proof
- Educational qualification certificates photocopy
- Date of birth proof
- Notary for tatkal (only for tatkal scheme)
- An urgency letter for tatkal (only for tatkal scheme)
The documents required are as follows,

- Passport renewal application form
- Two passport size photographs
- Old passport (if unable to submit should mention the reason)

- An urgency letter for tatkal (only for tatkal scheme)
For Indian Passport Processing Time would be as follows,
For fresh passport
For issuing a fresh passport it will take 6 – 8 weeks time. If applied under tatkal scheme it will take 1 – 2 weeks of time.
For Reissue
For reissue of Indian passport it will take 4 -6 weeks of time. If applied under tatkal scheme it will take around 1 – 2 weeks of time.
If you are a busy person and cannot do the follows of your passport application frequently, then it is better to approach a travel agent. It may cost a few bucks more but its worth.

Finally he submitted his birth certificate (it is also one kind of proof of address), all the documents that he got recently and all the documents required for proof of residence of his parents listed in http://passport.gov.in/, then officer will accept this with special permission. I think it is better you contact with RPO of your local Passport office and take the suggestion. But it is very difficult. It will better if you mail him and tell him the problem, he will reply quickly, as my friend was done so!!! The mail address is given in http://passport.gov.in/, choose your local RPO and then click contact us...Then you will find the mail address of the Regional passport officer!!

You first correct your 10th certificate, though it is complex but it will solve all of your anxiety. Officers are very expert, they will throughly examine all the documents....so if any mistakes are present then the probability of rejection will increase.

It is mandatory that you must submit birth certificate as you born after 26.1.1989 so you first apply for a birth certificate in your local B&D registration office where you born, and they will register you after completing the formalities prescribed by them. Go there and know the rules, then you will go for making a passport!!!

You can apply for it with the bmc office that is closer to the hospital u were born in or else obtain a notary requesting for a duplicate of of LC from school or college and submit it with a writen application and any kind of proof that u can provide letign them know u were a student of that school or colg. possibly a copy of LC...

Now to take care of the DOB, You will need to obtain a document form BMC a duplicate copy of LC from school or college. I understand that it is mentioned on our marksheet as well, sadly this is how the system works.
