How to Apply for Driving License in Pune

The driving license is issued to a citizen of 16 years of age and above(for a non-gear vehicle)and 18 years and above (for a geared vehicle).The RTO(Regional transport Officer)undertakes the work of permitting license.
Documents Required for License

Learners Driving License in Pune
for learners driving license in Pune, the applicant has to fill Learner's License(Form1,Form 2) and is needed to submit following documents

• Address Proof.
• Age Proof
• Medical Certificate

The cost of Learners driving license is Rs 30/- for each class of vehicle

Permanent Driving License in Pune
To get a permanent driving license in Pune, you need following documents

• Learner's License
• Passport size photograph(3 nos.)

The Cost/Fees of permanent driving license is Rs 50/- for ordinary copy and Rs 150/-for computerized copy.

Documents for age proof for Driving License

The applicant can show any of the below documents as proof of Age

1. School leaving certificate.
2. SSC Certificate.
3. Birth Certificate.
4. Passort Certificate.
5. Civil Surgeon's Certificate.

Documents for address proof for Driving License

Applicant can submit any of the following documents as a proof of his address

1. Voter's ID card
2. LIC
3. Passport
4. Electricity Bills
5. Telephone Bills.
6. Rent Recipient(last 6 months).

Where to submit documents ?
The required documents are to submitted to the RTO office Pune and the learner's license is issued the sane day or the day after.

Validity of the Learner's License
The validity of the learner's license is 6 months. Within the period of six months the applicant needs to give a driving test and his eyesight is checked for colourblindness ao any other major defect(Blind person or dim sighted person are invalid applicants of licence). After the above procedure is complete, a license gets issued to the applicant.

License on the same day
Earlier the required procedure was completed in the Alandi office
and the applicant was suppose to get the license from the office near Sangam Bridge but now the process has become much easier as the license can also be collected from Alandi office and on the same day.

Driving License renewal in Pune

To renew your driving license, the applicant has to fill the Renewal (form 1,form 9) and is needed to submit the following documents -

• Medication Certificate.
• Passport size photographs(2 in nos.)

The fees for license renewal is Rs 30/-

Duplicate Driving License in Pune

• Old License/Police report if the original is lost.
• Passport size photograph(2 in nos.)

The fees for duplicate driving license is Rs 50 and Fee for laminated license is Rs 200.

3.Addition of new class of Vehicle (for e. If you have a license of two wheeler and you want to apply for four wheeler):

• Old license.
• Two passport size photgraphs.
• Learner's license for new class of vehicle.

Fee Rs 50/-
Fee for the laminated License Rs 150/-
