Engineering Courses in India lead to the Diploma in Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree, and also Master of Engineering (M.E.) or Master of Technology (M.Tech.). There are many public and private universities and colleges in India that conduct these courses.
Diploma in Engineering can be done after Std. 10 (http://ekikrat.in/Diploma-Engineering). The requirement for entry into a B.E. 10+2 pass with not less than 50% marks and the students are also required to pass the "Common Entrance Test" (CET) of the particular state where they plan to apply. Diploma holders of engineering can get into B.E. courses by lateral entry into the second year of B.E. Apart from this there are other entrance tests like All India Engineering Entrance Examination(AIEEE) and IIT-JEE for entry into Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) which awards Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech).
