Footwear Design and Development Institute, also referred to as “FDDI”, is the leading Institute in India for Human Resource Development and Infrastructure Development for the footwear industry as well. FDDI is an initiative of the Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India and is registered under the societies Act, 1860. It is counted as one of the most elite fashion and retail institutions in the world.
Courses offered
The institute offers different long term and short term courses in the area of Fashion, Footwear Design, Fashion Merchandising, Leather Goods & Accessories Design and other Creative Designing. The short-term courses are for duration of one are -year and the short-term courses are of two to three years. All these courses that are offered are as per the international standards and requirements. The course wares, teaching materials and the training software of FDDI are designed by the experts from UK, Australia & Southfield College and Melbourne College of Textile. Whereas, the syllabus for management program are designed by the senior professors of IIM, New Delhi, FMS and Ahmedabad. The institute is always updating its course and education as per the prevailing standards and requirement of the international designing market.

Within a short span of its establishment FDDI has managed to mark a mark in the international fashion arena. FDDI is, in fact, among the first institute in the world to bag prestigious ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification.
