Film and Television Institute of India, Pune is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India. It conducts an Entrance Exam towards admission to its various courses in Film and Television.
- The eligibility criteria for admission to Direction, Cinematography, Editing,Acting and Feature Film Screenplay Writing is that the candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree from a recognised University.
- For admission to audiography course the candidates should have a Bachelor's degree with Physics as a subject at Sr Sec(10+2)level.
- Admission to Art Direction and Production Design requires a candidate to have a Bachelor's degree in Architecture/ Painting/ Applied Art/ Sculpture/ Interior Design or related fields in Fine Arts or Equivalent Diploma.
- For admission to Animation and Computer Graphics the basic eligibility criteria is Sr Sec (10+2) and preference is given to candidates having completed Diploma from fine arts colleges.
Prospectus can be obtained personally from the Tutorial Section and Facilitation Counter, Film and Television Institute of India. Application forms can also be downloaded from the institute's website 
The prospectus containing application form and other details can also be obtained on request along with a Demand Draft of Rs.800/- drawn on any of the branches of the State Bank of India or Indian Bank.
The Entrance exam is usually conducted on a Sunday. The tests are usually followed by interviews for selection of suitable candidates.
The Admission is made on the basis of written test and interview.
The applications are usually called in the month of March and the last date for receipt of application usually falls somewhere in the first week of April. FTII Entrance Exams are usually conducted in the month of May/ June.
