Frontline, an English language journal, is published by the Hindu Group of publications from Chennai, India. It is published once in a fortnight. It covers the current topics of the national and international news. It gives us a clear idea of the development as well as impediment in the way of development in the Indian states. It is published under the guidelines of Narasimhan Ram, the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine. The recognized leftwing writers such as Bhaskar Ghose, R.K.Raghavan, Praful Bidwai, Jayati Ghosh and C.P. Chandrasekhar contribute their valuable ideas to the magazine. Even Aijjaz Ahmad, a renowned Marxist literary critic and political analyst, also give his view on an assortment of themes sporadically. Under the regular column named “Letter from America” Vijay Prashad, a Marxist historian writes the reports of American issues.
This magazine is known for the revelation of the cause of the serious issues. It basically points to the various problem faced by the working and middleclass people. The policies of government like divestment in the public sector, opening of the area like telecom and insurance to the private and foreign player etc. were opposed by the magazine since 1991.
