Government Engineering College Kerala

Government Engineering College (GEC) is located at Ramavarmapuram in Thrissur in the state of Kerala. Established in the year 1957 this institute is perceived as one of the most premier and prestigious engineering education institutes in the country. GEC is affiliated to University of Calicut.

Courses and training programmes

GEC offers several B-Tech courses in Environmental Engineering (Civil Engineering Dept), Power Systems Engineering (Electrical & Electronics Engineering Dept), Production Engineering (Mechanical Engineering Dept), and Process Control (Chemical Engineering Dept). Besides, the B-Tech courses this institute also offers a Post-graduate Course in Computer Applications (MCA) and in several other subjects. All these course curriculum are approved by the National Board of Accreditation.

Eligibility

Aspirants seeking to enroll for the B. Tech. courses needs to have a pass certificate in Pre-degree Examination of the University of Calicut or any equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optional subjects. The candidates must possess a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics only and a total of 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics Chemistry together.

Aspirants seeking to enroll for the M. Tech. courses needs to have successfully pass in B. Tech. Degree Examination or possess any equivalent examination that is recognized by the Calicut University in the respective branch of study.

Aspirants seeking to enroll for the MCA course needs to possess a BCA, B.Sc in Computer science/ Electronics/ IT or possess a B.Sc/ B.Com or any equivalent degree with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the optional subjects or possess a B.Tech degree with an overall 50% aggregate in all the subjects.
