Government Engineering College, Thrissur

The Government Engineering College was established in the year 1993. The college is a government funded college and was established in order to look out and develop the standard of engineering education in India. The state of Kerala has extensively developed the college for further increase of its standard.

The college offers bachelor’s degree in engineering streams such as Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The college also offers master level degree in Environment Engineering, Power Engineering, Production Engineering and Industrial Engineering.

The college has placed its students in Essar Communication, Reliance Communications, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Polaris and HCL Technologies.

The college has an extensively developed infrastructure. The college has separate blocks of buildings that are dedicated to different streams. The college has also developed gymnasium and library housing over 35,000 volumes of books of different streams. Admission Procedure and Eligibility Criteria for Government Engineering College

The students have to appear for a written entrance exam. Those candidates who have secured the highest of marks are allowed to be interviewed only after the assessment of the over all marks are they selected for the final admission.

The students who want to take admission in the college have to be a citizen of India. The candidates should also secure a minimum of 55% marks in their Higher Secondary Examination. The aspirants should pass the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
