HSEE

Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Examination (HSEE) is conducted by IIT Madras every year for taking admissions into Integrated M.A. (five year program) in Development Studies, Integrated M.A. in Economics & Integrated M.A. in English Studies.

HSEE Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit: candidate age should be in range 17 to 25 years on the 1st October of the year of examination.

Educational Qualifications: Candidate should be 10+2 passed from any recognized board of secondary education or its equivalent with minimum 60% marks as aggregate if general category student, whereas minimum 55% marks are required for SC / ST / OBC and physically disabled candidates.

Medical Fitness Certificate: candidates are required to submit their Physical Fitness certificate from a Registered doctor along with admission form.

HSEE Admission Procedure: HSEE Exam is divided in two parts:

First part of examination will be an online objective type exam of 2.5 hours duration, the syllabus of exam includes general knowledge, general aptitude and mental ability & reasoning and general English & comprehension skills.

Second part of exam is of half hour duration and candidates will be asked to write an essay on mentioned topic.
The language of HSEE is English.

Note: out of total available seats, 15% seats are reserved for SC category candidates, 7.5 % seats are reserved for ST category students, 18% seats are reserved for OBC category candidates and 3% seats are reserved for physically disabled candidates.

How to Apply in HSEE:

Online Mode: Students can apply online from HSEE official website www.hsee.iitm.ac.in by filling up application form and pay examination fee via debit / credit card and send all the required documents to following address:

Online Assistance Mode: Application forms can be obtained from any branches of Union Bank of India, Indian Bank, and Eduquity Offices and then fill up the application, get signed by applicant and guardian and go to any branch of Union Bank of India or Indian Bank or Eduquity Office with all the required documents as mentioned in the prospectus and submit it there. Bank person will check and approved the documents and enter the data online on behalf of candidate.
