How to Register with IRCTC?

IRCTC stands for Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation limited. This IRCTC is basically an e-commerce website in India which is used for reservation and booking process. It has been used to transform the customer experience in buying the railway ticket by being waiting in the lengthy queues. There are many innovations made with this IRCTC which includes e-ticket booking and mobile booking.

Registering with this IRCTC provides you with the online reservation of tickets easily. Thus, passengers find it easy to book their tickets within the country at their door step instead of being waiting in a long queue and hence save their time. At present, only in certain important places like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and other major cities of the country, the feature to register with IRCTC is available. Now steps are taken to provide online reservation with IRCTC in other cities such as Ahmedabad, Pune and Hyderabad.

To register with IRCTC, if you are a new user, you need to register in the irctc.in website by clicking the sign up. Existing user can login with their username and password. The new users has to fill in the following details and click on submit which will navigate the user to the page containing the terms and conditions to be accepted to complete the registration process. The details to be given are your name, date of birth, occupation, security question to retrieve your password if you have forgot.

The other important details include your email address, residential address with pin code, phone number etc. After registering with the IRCTC, you can book the ticket by selecting the place of journey, date of journey, and type of class for journey etc. Then to choose the train, you need to click on find trains tab, select the train you want to travel and then click on book ticket. Then you can make your payment using either your credit or debit card.
