How to register a vehicle?
Registration of a vehicle is actually the initial recording the details of a vehicle on the Motor Vehicle Register. There the registration plates will be issued. The vehicle will be registered only after making sure that the vehicle is safe and it can be used on the road. Mostly the registration is done only once for a particular vehicle. But in case of any modification or rebuilt made on a vehicle or when the existing registration is cancelled, the vehicle has to be registered again.
The following documents are required to be submitted to register a vehicle for the first time in order to confirm on your identification. This is required to make sure that the details of name and address that are provided when registration is being done by the vehicle owner are true and thus done to prevent the fraudulent activities of vehicle registration. There are two types of applications available for registering the vehicle for the first time and to obtain a license for a vehicle.
V55/4 and V55/5 are the two types of applications that are available to register a vehicle and in both the cases, both name and the address checks are required. V55/4 is the application that is required to obtain license and to declare for a registration of a new imported vehicles. V55/5 is the application that is required for the license and declaration of registration for those vehicles which are rebuilt.
The following are the documents need to be produced at the time of registration of a vehicle for the confirmation of your name and address. A photo card or a driving license, or birth certificate which confirms your name and utility bills like electricity or gas or telephone bill, or a bank pass book can be produced to confirm the address.
