How to setup and Configure VoIP

VoIP or voice over internet protocol can also be known as Internet Telephony. It is the technology which enables digitalized audio to be transmitted over internet. This technology enables making and receiving phone calls vie broadband or high speed internet connection instead of the traditional telephone. The service providers in India provide unlimited international calling at cheap rates. They also claim to provide uninterrupted voice services and digital quality sound. To make these services avail user should know how to setup and configure VoIP. If the user does not know the process given below is the procedure.

Following are the steps for those who do not know how to setup and configure VoIP:

• To setup the VoIP the main things required are the phone instrument, the telephone adapter and a broadband connection.

• User should check the system requirements and the accessories before beginning to setup the VoIP. A voice line account and a phone number, a broadband internet connection like DSL, cable or T1 are required to setup the program.

• Then the InnoMedia MTA phone adapter should be installed. The WAN will connect the broadband internet network with the Ethernet network cable. The LAN will connect the PCs Ethernet port with a network cable.

• When the user is following the steps of how to setup and configure VoIP it should be ensured that the external router is connected to InnoMedia MTA. Then the regular broadband internet cable should be plugged in and then only MAT will be initialized.

• The DC power adapter on the back of the MTA should be connected which will take 15 minutes to download the configuration files. After downloading the configuration files it should be registered with the SIP server.

• Lastly user can refer to the user manual for configuring the VoIP the adapter and for any troubleshooting.
