Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) Delhi is bus service which is runs outside the territory of Delhi. There are various bus terminals in and around Delhi which the bus service halts and departs. This bus service also runs on other states like Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh which runs departs from Delhi. There are different types of bus services under ISBT which runs around Chandigarh to Delhi. There are deluxe, ordinary and Volvo bus services and each have different rates and timing which can be known from the ticket centers.
The ISBT which is currently known as Maharana Pratap Inter State Bus Terminus is undertaken by Kashmere Gate of Govt, in 1993 from Delhi Development Authority. The functioning of ISBT is done under the control of Deputy General Manager, Accounts Officer, and Executive Engineer. There are 3 areas where ISBT starts its journey. These are Maharana Pratap ISBT at Kashmere Gate, Delhi, and Swami Vivekananda ISBT at Anand Vihar, Delhi and Vir Hakikat Rai ISBT at Sarai Kale Khan, Delhi.

There are various bus depots for ISBT including Shadipur Bus Depot and Shivaji Bus Depot.
It is unfortunate to notice
It is unfortunate to notice the behaviour of DIMTS management who had made one lift exclusive for their 5th floor office. As the other lift is out of order we, Engineers of I&FC deptt. at 4th floor are forced to use the dirty stairs full of filth and garbage. Today, We requested the guard on the 5th floor office of DIMTS to open the emergency exit so that we can reach 4th floor office by going one floor downstairs but the guard refused to open the door and told that as per the orders of concerned DIMTS management he cannot open the door. Basically, it was unfair to make the lift exclusive for 5th floor initially itself as the other lift is used by users more extensively. In none of the building in Delhi the lift is made exclusive for low floor as 5th floor.It is noteworthy to mention here that office of Irrigation and Flood Control Deptt., GNCTD is situated at 4th floor since 1970s.
In view of the above it is requested that the lift being currently used by DIMTS should be made to stop at other floors also to reduce the load on the single lift being used by anyone other than DIMTS officers. Progress of the above matter may kindly be intimated to this office considering the possibilities and providing the basic infrastructural amenities to all.
