Important Words in Ayurveda
- It is opined in Ayurveda that the body is similar to nature, which is living, thinking and breathing organism with super controlling brain.
- The diseases are man-made as he simply rejects the diurnal and seasonal regimens and the ways of life, in the name of so-called scientific advancement and civilization.

Ayurveda: Science of life, knowledge of life span.
Abhyanga: Oil massage with warm oil.
Ama: Undigested food product, toxic contents present in the cells of the body and mind leading to a disease.
Asana: A yogic posture.
Dhatu: Tissues, seven dhatus in the body.
Dinacharya: A diurnal regimen or routine for perfect health.
Doshas: Fundamental principles of the body, when they are in balance, they maintain health of an individual. On their imbalance, they produce diseases.
Gandharva: Ancient tradition of music, employed for bringing mental imbalance to its balance.
Ghee: Clarified butter.
Guna: Natural properties of vata, pitta and kapha, three gunas are satva, rajas and tamas. Balance of these produces mental health.
Kapha: one of the three doshas necessary for structure and growth of the body.
Maha Bhutas: they are five—earth, water, fire, air and ether—which are present in nature as well as in some proportion in the body.
