Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM)

Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM) is one of the most elite management institutes in the eastern India. It was established on April 25, 2003 by the joint efforts of Calcutta University and the business community of the country. The foundation stones of this institute were laid by renowned Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India and Dr. B. C. Roy, the then Chief Minister of West Bengal. Since its inception the institute has achieved several landmarks in the field of management education and trainings.

About IISWBM

IISWBM, Kolkata at present is an autonomous institute. But however, both Government of India and the West Bengal Government also offers substantial grant to meet the operational expenses of the Institute. The institute was previously known as the All India Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management. It was commissioned with a sole intention of promoting professional management to the potential students of the country. In fact the institute was the first to initiate the management education programme in India.

Courses offered

IISWBM offers various management courses to the students such as MBA, Masters in Human Resource Management, Post-Graduate Diploma Programme in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM) (evening) - 3 Year, Post-Graduate Diploma Programme in Business Management (PGDBM) (evening) - 3 Year, Management Development Programmes (MDPs) and Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDPs) and so on. The courses are at par with the courses in other international management institutes.
They are designed to provide an overall development and insight to the students regarding the prevailing industrial sector in the international arena.
