The Indian Institute of Crafts and Design, Jaipur has been set up by the Government of Rajasthan and managed by Ambuja Educational Institute as an autonomous Institute of excellence with a national mandate to act as a catalyst in the crafts sector.

The selection process consists of a national level aptitude test, material test and interview. The selection panel is of professionals from craft/design sector. The Institute follows a method of selection which focuses on the aptitude of the candidate who thinks laterally, who is able to develop alternative approaches to deal with complex situations.

Admission is open to students who have passed or who will appear for qualifying examinations under the Higher Secondary (10+2), or equivalents like AISSCE/ IB/ ICSE etc.
