This college is located in the Kalyani district of West Bengal. It was established in the year 2000 as a private institution and is certified by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The candidates applying for a place in the institute are required to take either the JEM or the GDAT entrance test and their marks in the test decide whether they get admission or not. There are, however, a few requirements that need to be met in order to take these tests.

Firstly one should have been a resident of West Bengal for at least 10 years before applying for the test or at least their parents should have a permanent residency in the above mentioned state.

Students from colleges outside of West Bengal may also apply in the institute out of which 12 students are chosen by the Government to fill the seats that are reserved for this purpose. There are special seats reserved for Scheduled Castes and Tribes as well.

The courses offered in this institute are spread over a span of four years and cover all aspects of Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, etc. The Engineering and Computer Courses are Bachelor Degree courses but a Masters Degree courses in Technology are also on offer. The faculty is highly qualified and is always eager to assist the students in every way possible in order to make them into skilled engineers.
