The Kapil Muni fair is commonly known as Kolayat fair. It is the largest fair of Bikaner district of the state of Rajasthan. This fair takes place on Kartik Purnima, the full moon night of the month of Kartik at Kolayat which is originally Kapilayatan named after the sage Kapil. It is believed that Kapil Muni has done tapasya or meditation at this place for the redemption of mankind. Kolayat is situated in an arid area with a lake having 52 ghats surrounded by banyan trees around the lake. A temple is there dedicated to Kapil Muni situated on the Kapil Muni ghat with a marble statue of the saint.
- The day of Kartik Purnima is considered to be very auspicious and thus taking a dip in the holy lake on this day is also known to be very auspicious. Thus on the day of Kolayat fair devotees come to the Kapil Muni temple and take a dip in the ghat.

There are numerous tourist attractions that make this land famous of valor and courage. - On Kartik Purnima during the Kolayat fair Deep Malika is performed in the evening. The devotees float lamps in the sacred lake which is a part of the ritual. Offerings consist of sugar drops, coconut and dry fruits are given in the temple.
- The most interesting and important part is the cattle fair that takes place on the same day. This fair is the largest cattle fair of Bikaner. People from all over the country come to trade horses, camels, buffaloes, and cattle in this fair. Competitions also take place and prizes and certificates are given away to the best breeders.
