Kolkata Armed Police

The Kolkata Armed Police is under the Deputy Commissioner of Police its one of the important functions of the Kolkata Police taking care of all problems and widespread issues in the city precincts that the unarmed police are unable to quell. The consist of mainly eight battalions from DC 1st Battalion to DC 8th Battalion, the first line of defense in times of trouble and panic usually is the Unarmed police force but if they are unable to deter or suppress the issue and it causes much havoc the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kolkata Armed Police is called into play, these men are trained to handle all sorts of situations in the city without much force and suppress any terror issues in the city precincts.

Some of the other functions of the Kolkata Armed Police are to provided guard to most of the Government offices in the city including the city’s treasuries and protected places and consulates which are always targets for terror groups and activists, they also provide escort for carrying arms and ammunition and government treasury documents and goods and to supply a striking unit at the Kolkata Police Lalbazar Headquarters to assist the unarmed branches.

The eight battalions of the Kolkata Armed Police force are under the supervision of the Sr. DC AP and their flag that identifies them is a Black and Blue striped flag with the three headed lion seal in its center with a red triangle with the BHQ standing for Brigadier Headquarters initials.

Respected Sir,

I am Rakesh Sen, 23 years old, Graduate. My dream is to be an honest Police Officer so that I work and do impressive for my mother India. I always respect Police and his uniform. I think that only a Police can eliminate crime, persecute from my barest of our mother. I want to achieve this uniform to the position where ordinary community respect Police Uniform after God. Hope, you will give me a chance to serve the nation and to archive my dream in future.
