This puja is organized every year by the people of Bengal in honor of the Goddess Durga, who are considered to be the wife of Lord Shiva. The Durga Puja is celebrated on a grand scale in Kolkata and its adjoining areas. During the festival the whole city is decorated like a new bridegroom with colorful Flowers and lightening.
Besides the above factors the great hospitability of the Kolkata people have also attracted several tourist from across the globe.
