LIC Development Officers Examination:

The recruitment of Assistant Development Officers' in the Life Insurance Corporation is based on the performance in the competitive examination which is held every year in September. in the month of July, the Employment News has the application forms available with particulars along with the last date for submission of application which is the first week of August.

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, Agriculture or Law of an Indian or Foreign University or an equivalent qualification.

Age Limits:

Must have completed the age of 21 years on the lst July of the year of examination.

Examination Fee:

Rs. 30/- and no fee for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, etc.

Initial Pay:

Rs. 8000

Examination:

  1. Written Examination:
  2. Test of Reasoning and Numerical Ability.
  3. General English/Hindi.
  4. General Knowledge.
  5. Interview of candidates who qualify the Written Test.

L.I.C. Assistants’, Stenos’, and Typists' Examination:

The examinations are held once every year by the various DO’s (Divisional Offices) of the Life Insurance Corporation for recruitment.

Educational Qualifications:

(a) For Assistants:

Graduate degree from a recognized University, H.S.C. (Standard XII of 10+2+3 pattern and minimum 60% marks in aggregate, or a pass in LIC. Course of CBSE (Standard XII - 10+2+3 pattern).

(b) For Typists:

Graduate degree from a recognized University, H.S.C. (Standard XII of 10+2+3 pattern and a minimum of 55% marks in the aggregate, or a pass in LIC Vocational Course CBSE (Standard XII - 10+2+3 pattern) and a typing speed of 40 WPM (words per minute) in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi.

(c) For Stenographers:

Graduate degree from a recognized University, H.S.C. (Standard XII of 10+2+3 pattern with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate, or a pass in LIC Vocational Course (Standard XII of 10+2+3 pattern) with English shorthand typing speed of at least 100 WPM (words per minute) and English typing speed of 40 words per minute in or Hindi shorthand with a speed of 80 words per minute and 25 words per minute speed in Hindi typing.

Age:

Minimum 18 years and maximum less than 28 years on the first day of the October of the year in which examination is held. There is an upper age limit relaxation in case of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and other categories as notified.

Initial Pay:

Rs. 4000 in the scale of Rs. 1950-5500.

Examination:

The written test is of two types objective and descriptive.

Objective papers consist of:

Reasoning Ability (Bilingual)
Numerical Ability
General Knowledge
English
Hindi (for A and B states only).

Descriptive paper comprises of:

English or Hindi English
Official Language of the State (e.g., Punjabi in Punjab).

Important:

  • All Tests have to be passed separately by the candidate.
  • The merit order of the candidates is decided by the aggregate score.
  • Candidates passing each test separately and get a rank sufficiently high in the merit list are called for personal interview/trade test (wherever applicable).
  • Final Selection is bases on the overall performance in the written test, trade test (where applicable) and the interview.
