Leh is one of the most favorite and exotic tourist destinations in India. It is the capital city of Ladakh and is located on the Himalayan Mountains at an altitude of almost 3,505 m above sea level. Another place of prime importance is the Victory Tower which was built during the 16th century to commemorated Ladakh’s victory over the enemies of Balti Kashmir armies. The other places for the tourists to visit are the Namgyal Tsemo Gompa, Shanti Stupa, Alchi gompa, the royal residence and the Thikse gompa.
The extremely cold climate of Leh may be quite uncomfortable for certain tourists but welcome smile on the faces of the Ladakhi people is surely warm up their hearts. On visiting Ladakh you can surely feel on top of the world.
