The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Indore is the Oldest and the most prestigious institutions of the country. It has engaged itself in the noble profession of imparting under-graduate and graduate courses in all the specialities for the past 50 years today.

Library Of the Institute[edit]

The Institutes's Library had been established in 1948 with rich heritage of old collection of books & Journals from KEM school. At this time the collection of books was 11,000 and Journals was 518 & Back No. of bound Journals 148. By passage of time Library has undergone dramatic changes. It has grown faster & faster in the interest of beneficiaries. Now the collection is 22,000 books and bound issues of Journals are 11450. At present we are subscribing 35 Journals for the year 2000. There are 2000 Thesis in the Library.

Courses offered by the institute[edit]

PHYSIOTHERAPY COURSE:

 Duration - The course of Bachelor of Physiotherapy is of four and a half years including six months duration of compulsory internship. No stipend or remuneration shall be paid during compulsory internship.

Eligibility - A candidate seeking admission to the course must have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects. The CBSE pass students will be treated at par with other students.

Admission Criteria - The selection for the course will be done on merit basis of the marks obtained in qualifying examination higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology only. In case of equal marks in merit list, preference will be given to the younger in age. Gape certificate, if any, will have to be attached with the admission form.

Seats - There are total 32 seats for the course. The distribution of the seats is as under:

a) General-13 Seats

b) N.R.I - 5 Seats

c) Freedom Fighter-1 Seat

d) Military Personnel-1 Seat

e) Scheduled Caste-4 Seats

f) Scheduled Tribe-5 Seats

g) O.B.C. - 3 Seats

Note : 30% of total seats are reserved for girls.

PARAMEDICAL COURSE:

           Duration - The duration of course is one year followed by 3 months Practical Training.

Eligibility - A Candidate seeking admission to the course must have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (10+2) or equivalent from the recognized Board/University with Physics, Chemistry & Biology. In case of equal marks in merit, the aggregate marks of Physics, Chemistry & Biology will be taken into consideration for deciding the merit, In the event of the preference will be given to the candidate younger in age.

Seats - There are 15 seats for each course every year. Reservations in various categories is available as per M.P. Government rules. In each group breakup will be as under :-
