Review of Maruti Omni

Maruti Omni is a sort of a mini-sized van. Mini-sized because the mini van of today's generation are much bigger than the current Maruti Omni. Maruti Omni has many variants, the normal 5 seater, 8 seater, an ambulance and a cargo van. It is more of a work horse vehicle today than a prestige car. The Omni has a mono-box design and is more or less flat all through. The design and the model has not been changed in over a decade and there are few takers for this car today. The interiors are very poor and the dashboard is almost non existent. The ride quality and the handling is atrocious while the cabin is quite noisy.

The plastic that has been used is of low grade and the fitting begin to get lose after an year in use. The space inside is quite comfortable for a small joint family and is the only reason for its sales. Seat comfort is minimal and ride is bumpy. On the safety points too this car scores very lowly, in fact the risk levels are too high. It is also available in CNG and LPG variants.
