Lancer Diesel is equipped with a 2.0 lt, 4 cylinders SOHC 8 Valve IDI Diesel engine that churns out 68 PS of peak power @ 4500rpm and a max. torque of 12.5 kgm @ 3000rpm. The engine underneath the bonnet has an aluminum cylinder head and an optimized combination of torque & power plus better power to weight ratio delivers increased fuel efficiency. Its elegant vertical front grille has the 3 diamond red colored Mitsubishi badge sitting right in the middle of the grille. Lancer now has new clean lens headlamps, body colored handle, body colored door mirrors and a sporty new antenna which highlight the car's new exterior features. Its interiors are well appointed with ergonomically placed controls, a new illuminated digital clock, MP3 CD player for entertainment, leather wrapped steering wheel, back lit meters and molded door trims with dual tone matching fabric. Its rear seat flaunt a armrest console, there is an electrically adjustable mirror feature for added convenience, tilt adjustable power steering. Lancer's sales have fading since a long time as the company has failed to update its model while competitors have brought newer models with contemporary looks. Lancer's diesel engine is as good as anyother company's diesel engine but its looks are outdated and hence sales have dropped.
