NIFT – Examination

NIFT conducts examinations for Bachelor Programmes in Design and Technology which consists of B.Des in Fashion /Leather/Accessory/Textile and Knitwear Designing and Fashion Communication. It requires in the +2 level in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination or General Certificate Education Examination at the advanced A level or any Public School/Board Examination in India or Abroad recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system or a pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination with a minimum of five subjects, or 3 or 4 years diploma, recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education. The Technology Programme requires a certificate from any of the above examination boards with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as added subjects. The institute also offers a Masters Programme in Design, Management and Technology. The Design Programme (M.Des) requires B.Sc (Textiles & Clothing) or Bachelor in Applied Arts (Fashion, Graphic, Industrial, Interior, Multimedia and Product Designs, Visual Communication and Textiles & Accessories), B.Arch. Design Diploma, Degree from NIFT/NID/. Candidates having additional industry experience in the relevant fields would be preferred. The Management Programme (MFM) gives a three year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities or Diploma in Accessory/Fashion Design from NIFT only. For foreign Bachelor’s Degree a proper certification by a National Body will have to be produced The Technology Programme (MFTech) requires B.E/B.Tech. Candidates appearing for their examination can also apply. The Weightage of marks are in the 10%, 40% and 60% range
