NIT Jaipur or Malviya Regional Engineering College (MREC), Jaipur was established in 1962 as an initiative of Government of Rajasthan and Government of India for providing engineering training in the country. The institute was further renamed as Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur in January 2002.

NIT Jaipur Admission Procedure:

Admission to the undergraduate programs is based on the rank obtained in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination [AIEEE] conducted by the Central Board Of Secondary Education (C B S E ) New Delhi.

NIT Jaipur Eligibility:

• The minimum academic qualification for admission through AIEEE is a pass in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination.
• The number of attempts which the candidate can avail at All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination shall be limited to 03(three) uniformly for all the candidates in consecutive years.

NIT Jaipur Hostel

At present, there are eight regular Boy's Hostel, one regular Girl's Hostel(Two Buildings) and one hostel for PG students. New PG Accomodation for girls with a capacity of 60 seats is functional for the academic session 2008-09. The hostels can accommodate 1873 students.
