National Institute of Technology Raipur or NIT Raipur the erstwhile Government college of Engineering and Technology, was established in 1956 as a joint venture between Central government and government of Madhya Pradesh, with the purpose of imparting technical education at under graduate and post graduate level.From 1st December 2005, the institute has become the National Institute of Technology.
NIT Raipur Admission Procedure:
Admission to the undergraduate programs is based on the rank obtained in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination [AIEEE] conducted by the Central Board Of Secondary Education (C B S E ) New Delhi.
NIT Raipur Eligibility:
• The minimum academic qualification for admission through AIEEE is a pass in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination.
• The number of attempts which the candidate can avail at All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination shall be limited to 03(three) uniformly for all the candidates in consecutive years.

NIT Raipur Hostel:
The institute has 5 boy’s and 1 girls’ hostel, within the campus. A 60-seat girl’s hostel is under construction adjacent to existing girls hostel within the campus. Each hostel is self-contained with amenities such as common room and a dining hall with mess. All the hostel rooms are adequately furnished. Each hostel has a capacity to house about 100 inmate students.
NIT Raipur Campus
The Institute is one of the biggest campus amongst all the technical institutions of Chhattisgarh,spread over an area of 100 acres. The campus is a completely planned entity consisting of the main institute building, six hostel blocks, residential quarters for teaching and non-teaching staff, a bank, a separate PWD and electricity office for campus maintenance, a well equipped dispensary and a well maintained guest house. The campus has got an additional facility of a local railway station meant specially for the benefit of the students of nearby areas.

Hello im a first year in NIT
Hello im a first year in NIT Raipur. There is no such ragging here. I also saw one video but i should say that it should be the rare case. I frequently go to my seniors hostel to use internet. They are really friendly. Scandals are always there....you can ask any of my batch mates about ragging and you will know that our college ranks least in ragging among NITs. You can confirm my words from any of my batch mates...
