The National Institute of Technology Agartala, was earlier known as Tripura Engineering College.The college was established in 1965, and was affiliated with Calcutta University. With the conceptualization of NIT’s, the college renamed as National Institute of Technology and given the “Deemed University” status by Ministry of Human Resource Development - Government of India.
NIT Agartala Admission Procedure:
Admission to the undergraduate programs is based on the rank obtained in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination [AIEEE] conducted by the Central Board Of Secondary Education (C B S E ) New Delhi.
NIT Agartala Eligibility:
• The minimum academic qualification for admission through AIEEE is a pass in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination.
• The number of attempts which the candidate can avail at All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination shall be limited to 03(three) uniformly for all the candidates in consecutive years.

NIT Agartala Campus
The campus of the Institute is spread over an area of 335 acres, set amidst a sprawling landscape of natural quietness. It presents a spectacle of harmony in modern architecture, natural beauty and picturesque surroundings. A well-equipped Medical Unit with a Medical Officer, Pharmacist and other supporting staff is available in the campus for rendering medical care to the students, staff and other inmates of the campus.

The institute offers so many
undergraduate programs in
Engineering of four year
duration. Undergraduate
programs lead to the B.Tech.
degrees.
Recently the institute is also
offering M.Tech courses & other various course.. Recently NIT AGARTALA started Ph.D programms also..
Its a very good instt of North Eastern India, & their placement record is also good..
