NIT Calicut

Calicut Regional Engineering College (CREC), now known as National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC)was born in September 1961, in a picturesque landscape at the foothills of the Western Ghats, about 22 kilometers north-east of Calicut City. Ninth of its kind and the first one to be established during the Third Five Year Plan period was accorded the Deemed University Status in June 2002.

NIT Calicut Admission Procedure:

Admission to the undergraduate programs is based on the rank obtained in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination [AIEEE] conducted by the Central Board Of Secondary Education (C B S E ) New Delhi.

NIT Calicut Eligibility:

• The minimum academic qualification for admission through AIEEE is a pass in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination.
• The number of attempts which the candidate can avail at All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination shall be limited to 03(three) uniformly for all the candidates in consecutive years.

calculation of placement percentage is not based on total no of students in the branch...its solely on the no of eligible students from each branch...
a student shouldnt have any present backs in any paper and should not have dropped any core subjects for being considered for placements...

I am also sure NIT calicut don't have 100% placement record in non CSE branches. I think most of the time colleges just make the figure round off to make it look impressive
