National Institute of Technology (NIT) Surathkal is one of the best engineering colleges in India. The college was established in 1960 as a joint venture between Government of India and Government of Karnataka. The college was earlier known as Karnataka Regional Engineering College. In 2002, the college was accorded the status of Deemed University and was renamed as National Institute of Technology Surathkal.
NIT Surathkal Admission Procedure:
Admission to the undergraduate programs is based on the rank obtained in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination [AIEEE] conducted by the Central Board Of Secondary Education (C B S E ) New Delhi.
NIT Surathkal Eligibility:
• The minimum academic qualification for admission through AIEEE is a pass in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination.
• The number of attempts which the candidate can avail at All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination shall be limited to 03(three) uniformly for all the candidates in consecutive years.

It provides hostel facilities to all the students of the college. Separate Hostel Blocks are provided for girl students. The NITK has eleven hostel blocks in all. Vignesh, to get into NIT surathkal, you need to get good rank in AIEEE, preferably less then 7k. Study hard, make ssure your maths is strong and focus completely on AIEEE.

Who on earth said that you cant give aieee or IIT after completing diploma?It can be given provided your average percentage of marks in 6 semesters is 60% minimum.But you cant get into 2nd year directly.You have to study from 1st year.
