Nursing services are a part of healthcare services. It is mainly focused on the care and concern for the ailing individuals, starting from the birth till death. Nursing at present has become a profession and it is based up on the delineation of professional rights and responsibilities and the mechanism for public accountability.

The nurses are vested with the duties and responsibilities of taking care of the ailing people. The ailments can be of anytime and thus the nurses are expected to take care of them without any discrimination and unfairness.

Duties of nurses and nursing services

• The nurses first require practicing the settings like visiting the homes and hospitals, schools and other pharmaceutical companies. They need to get the proper training from any recognized institution.

• The nurses should not be engaged in multi tasking other than taking care of the patients. They should be under a proper work environment as the duties of nurse require extreme patience.

• The nurses should be soft and delicate in behaving with the patients.

• They should also follow the instructions given by the doctors and their seniors.

• They should give food and medicines in time as prescribed by the doctor.

• They should try to entertain the ailing people by reading the newspapers, religious books, magazines according to the choice and the taste of the patient.

• They should try to eliminate the loneliness of the patients and give them as much company as possible.

• The nursing services also include the duties of keeping the bed and toilet or the room of the patient neat and clean.

• The nurses should also help the patients to brush their teeth, wear their clothes, go to the toilet. They should also help them in sponging their bodies.

If the patients’ families are booking the nurses at their homes they should take care of the accommodation and fooding of the nurse and also the safety and security of them. They should not be engaged in any other work of the house. The remuneration of the nurses should be paid at time, no delayed should be made.
